Oh the football gods have delivered a wonderful present in the form of ESPN showing the NFL Playoffs. I will be enjoying Red Bull and hopefully enjoy a Cardinals miracle...Oh right you want to hear about Uganda. Well the movies on the plane were ok but the company was much better. Mike and MK sat in behind us on the flight leg and then in front of us the second. KLM was very nice and generous with wine and food. We had a warm reception and spent the day getting us to the timezone and the bitter warmth of the Equator. The nice cool breeze keeps the temprature a lot lower in the evening and very comfortable.
A lot has changed in Uganda, for the better. The economy appears to be booming from the airport which was update years ago when THE QUEEN came to visit. Also today we walked to neighborhood and to my shock there is a mall right down the street. On the outside of the mall Mike & MK noticed a coffee shop while Kristen & I bypassed it in favor of the outdoor bar.
I had to tell Kristen that I believe everything I told you was a lie. First the second flight looked more like a redeye to Vancouver then a trip to the "motherland". The flight was packed with people spreading the Lord's good word which probably put anyone's fears to rest of the plane landing in the Alps (which looked amazing), sea or the middle of the desert. Second all the lovely features such as satelite tv, malls and the vast influx of commericalization has changed the country but adds some comfort features. Really all the stories of us roughing it have now turned into a fancy trip to Arizona. Speaking of Arizona...did I tell you get to watch the Cardinals play!
